Our Planet: Our Business

23 September 2019, Vienna

The Department for International Trade in Austria hosted a networking evening of discussions around the key issues that are pushing planetary boundaries to their limits and what businesses can do to reverse those trends.

Lisa Simon, Project Manager Climate & Sustainable Business Engagement of WWF Austria highlighted the inspiration behind the film Our Planet: Our Business, a four-year collaboration between Netflix, UK based film production company Silverback Films and the WWF.

Nerys Jones, Deputy Head of Mission, spoke about the UK as a world leader in clean growth and Bronwen V. Moore, Country Director of Department for International Trade in Austria, addressed the issue of how we can tackle climate change successfully.

The Austrian stop of the Sustainability Tour Europe attracted over 50 attendees from Austria businesses, industry and government, and inspired some of the major businesses to implement DIT’s initiative.

“The next ten years are critical to reverse nature loss. We need to mobilise everyone – businesses, politics, civil society – to put nature on top of the agenda.”
