Applications are now open!

Our Goal:

To highlight the best sustainability solutions in Denmark, and encourage stakeholders to implement them

Our pilot event, the SDG Tech Awards Denmark 2019 was a huge success, spurring us on to bring the awards show international by hosting the SDG Tech Awards Brazil.

This year, the SDG Tech Awards 2020 will be part of an exciting new initiative called Holdbart (Copenhagen Climate Days), in which we onboard an inclusive group of climate actors to join across a three-day event dedicated to sustainable solutions.

Can I nominate myself?

Yes! If your company deserves recognition, you can certainly nominate yourself!

What is the selection committee?

The selection committee is a group of individuals that are totally immersed in the sustainability industry, and therefore have a keen awareness of the great work companies are doing in Denmark. They each nominate 10 companies they believe deserve recognition at the SDG Tech Awards. The companies nominated by the selection committee will be added to the pool of companies nominated by the public on our website. Those nominated by the selection committee in no way have any advantage over publicly nominated companies.

How does the People’s Choice Awards work?

Once you have confirmed your nomination, we will send you a LINK on 17 March 2020 that all nominees can share with their network via social media asking them to vote for the company they believe should win. Voting closes 6 April 2020, and the company with the most votes will be announced at the awards show on 24 April 2020.

What are the requirements for nomination?

Companies MUST be Danish, and focus on one of the following topics: resource management, plastics and waste, mobility, architecture, food and agriculture, climate education and partnerships, health, and reducing inequalities. We accept nominations from corporations, NGOs, startups, research projects, concepts, and more, however, please note that we are looking for specific sustainable projects or initiatives that companies are implementing, NOT the sustainability of a company itself.

What information do I need to make a nomination?

We need your full name and an indication of whether you want your nomination to be anonymous or not. We also need the company name and website, as well as a contact name and email for someone we can get in touch with at the company. Finally, we ask for a short (100 words max) description of why the company is being nominated- ie., what is their sustainable initiative.

What is the nomination process?

Companies are nominated by either the public on our website, or by our selection committee. Once nominated, a company will receive an email from a member of Sustainary notifying them of their nomination, and giving them some information about the nomination process. They must confirm their nomination by replying to the email by 16 March 2020. They will then receive an “SDG Tech Awards nominee” badge to put on their website and social media, and a profile building form to fill out in order for the jury to assess them. They must complete this profile building form by 23 March 2020.

How does the Jury Selection work?

Profile building forms filled out by each confirmed nominee will be sent to our carefully selected jury panel for assessment. Based on the average rating by each jury member, finalists and winners in each category will be selected. Finalists will be announced on 7 April 2020, while the winners will be announced on 24 April 2020 at the SDG Tech Awards show.
