We utilize an enormous potential in the form of hiring skilled and capable people with physical disabilities to maintain live chat on companies’ websites.
What is your superpower?
Some of our chat ambassadors have been unemployed for six years, and most have long academic careers that are not being utilized. We offer them a job they can manage from home with flexible hours. By utilizing these overlooked skills and competencies, we’re able to create great value for our clients through good service and harvesting hot leads.

What SDG is your organization integrating into its core competency?
SDG #8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
We offer decent work to many qualified people with a physical handicap. We have learned that they have a great want for work, and capabilities to do an amazing job. However, their specific situations are not compatible with the norms of today’s labor market.
SDG #10: Reduce inequality within and among countries
At Crowdio, our goal is to strengthen the conditions for people with a handicap both socially and economically. Our colleagues are thrilled to be a part of a workplace community; a community we know plays a huge role in how we perceive our own identity and self.
Every hero has a villain – what challenges do you or your targeted group face?
Our biggest challenge is trust. It’s not easy to persuade companies to let outsiders handle their live chat on their website. Thankfully, when we’re given the chance to show what we can do, we experience minimal churn because of the value that we create. Our agents are great communicators and visitors on our clients’ websites rarely learn that we’re external agents. Furthermore, clients are thrilled when they learn that their chats will be answered by our colleagues with a physical handicap.
What are you doing to overcome your villain?
To overcome the challenge of trust we strive towards excellent service and qualified leads. This is first and foremost done by our initial screening of our chat ambassadors and their training in Crowdio Academy, where they are taught efficient communication and chat techniques.
